Gestão a distância na Biblioteca Setorial de Ciências Exatas e Engenharia da Universidade Federal do Amazonas no período de pandemia

Abstract

The present study deals with distance management in a federal public library and aims to analyze how the process of managing the library at a distance took place during the pandemic period, which technologies were used and how managers dealt with the use of technologies. It also presents the difficulties and facilities in working in this modality. Distance management is a modality that can be easily mastered, it can present itself as a great challenge for some individuals or as a novelty for others. For the librarians of the Sectorial Library of Exact Sciences and Engineering (BSCEE), it was presented as a novelty. The work contextualizes in its first sections on: the university library and management in libraries; distance management and the role of the manager leader; remote work and other modalities of working remotely; the use and importance of technologies through the various tools to aid distance management. Finally, in the results and discussion section, the investigation carried out with the managers of BSCEE is presented. Reports and discusses the issues of planning to carry out remote activities; highlights the tools used in remote management and which ones are most frequently used; shows the difficulties and facilities faced in the period of remote work. It also questions about motivation, about the importance of the leader's role and about the experience of managers in managing distance. Thus, this work aims to expose the experience of managers, and contribute to the UFAM library system for future remote activities.
