Qualidade do girassol ornamental cultivado em vaso, com uso de reguladores de crescimento

Abstract

In the last years, it has been verified an increasing increase in the introduction of non-traditional flowers in the floriculture sector and among them the sunflower (Helianthus annuus, L.) stands out, being widely used in the cultivation of cut and potted flowers. Thus, the present work aims to evaluate the growth of ornamental sunflower, cultivated in pots, using different concentrations of growth retardants, aiming to identify the most suitable concentration for flower production. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse belonging to the Universidade Federal do Amazonas, Campus Vale do Rio Madeira (UFAM/IEAA), Humaitá- AM. The sowing was done in pots filled with commercial Vida Verde® substrate. Two cultivars were used being, dwarf yellow sungold sunflower and tall yellow garden sunflower. The experimental design used was entirely randomized, with three repetitions and five concentrations of the growth retardant and the evaluations were plant height, stem height and inflorescence diameter. In the cultivar high yellow there was a decrease in height at the concentration of 4000 mg L-1, but not enough to be considered an ornamental plant, in the cultivar double dwarf no change was observed.
