Benefício de prestação continuada: a atuação do assistente social na viabilização desse direito no município de Parintins-Amazonas

Abstract

The aforementioned course completion work alludes to the topic of continued provision benefits: the role of social workers in enabling this right in the municipality of ParintinsAmazonas. The study sought to analyze and identify the challenges and strategies of the social worker's actions in the face of demands for BPC, highlighting the importance of their actions in enabling this right, as well as the challenges faced by applicants when requesting this benefit in Parintins. The study was based on a qualitative approach, was based on bibliographical research and field research, and was anchored in the dialectical structural historical method. The research subjects were three (03) BPC beneficiaries, one (01) elderly and two (02) people with disabilities; three (03) “elderly” BPC applicants and one (01) social worker with whom interviews were carried out using a semi-structured script. The research results indicate that users face challenges in accessing the Continuous Payment Benefit due to a lack of adequate information about the requirements for granting it. It is important to highlight that it is necessary to promote events to share information about this benefit, especially in the rural area of the municipality.
