Primeiro registro de Trachyderes succinctus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) no Sul do Amazonas

Abstract

This paper deals with the first identification of the presence of the cerambycid Trachyderes succinctus in southern Amazonas, a significant event for monitoring and managing insect pests in the region. Cerambycids, known for their wood-eating larvae, can cause substantial damage to plant species. The species Trachyderes succinctus is identified by its distinctive morphological features, such as a transverse yellow band on the elytra and long antennae present. The research was carried out at the Mangabeiras Experimental Farm, located in Humaitá-AM, an area that represents Amazonian biodiversity with its tropicais rainy climate and dense forest vegetation. The main objective of the work was to record the presence of this species in the south of Amazonas. To this end, collection methods were employed using low-cost traps made from plastic containers painted with yellow spray paint, containing a mixture of ethyl alcohol and cupuaçu extract as an attractant.
