Indíos na cidade: um estudo sobre a relação da etnia indígena Ticuna, com a sociedade urbana do Município de Benjamin Constant - AM

Abstract

This work is na Anthropological research on the relationship between indigenous people of the Ticuna ethnicity and the urban society of the Municipality – AM. The aim of the research is to make a presentation of the historical process of the relationship of the Ticuna indigenous people with non-indigenous regions of the Alto Solimões region, with emphasis on the Benjamin Constant urban center, highlighting events that marked the inter-ethnic relationship. In ethnography in the city, highlighting the importance of the insertion of Ticuna indigenous in Municipal Bodies. In the study showing the collaboration of Ticuna trades in the urban area in categories. And, it shows how inter-ethnic relationships are established today, through informal conversations with research subjects and also in approaches to events or movements in the city. The work has as a theotic basis, the first theory of brazilian ethnology, created by Anthropologist Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira, who in turn formulated the name “Inter-ethnic Friction”, but which perhaps has almost the same meaning as inter-ethnic relationship. In general terms, the work seeks to understand how the coexistence of the Ticuna indigenous occurs with non-indigenous regions in urbanity spaces such as federal and Municipal bodies, associations, commercial establishments and on the streets of a non-indigenous population center that create or Always having the presence of Ticuna indigenous people, which is Benjamin Constant,in the interior of the state of Amazonas.
