O discurso misógino na obra o Auto da Índia de Gil Vicente, em comparação ao discurso da telenovela brasileira Caminho das Índias

Abstract

This research is dedicated to demonstrating the reproduction of the misogynistic culture related to women during the medieval and contemporary period, from the reading of "Auto da Índia" by Gil Vicente and the Brazilian soap opera Caminho das Índias (2009) by Glória Perez. The female characters of these works will be the central object of the study, as we are interested in comparing them and investigating the misogynistic discourse constructed over the centuries. The study will be based on theories of gender studies, with emphasis on the works of Aristotle, Georges Duby and Pedro Carlos Louzada Fonseca. "Generation of Animals" by Aristotle, "Eve and the Priests" by George Duby and "Woman and Misogyny - in the view of the Fathers of the Church and its medieval legacy" by Pedro Carlos Louzada Fonseca, these studies will offer views on misogyny in medieval European society, contributing to the understanding of the historical roots of the medieval society. being reproduced in the telenovela listed above. It was evaluated that the misogynistic representations in Gil Vicente's farces and in Brazilian soap operas influence and reflect social attitudes towards women, contributing to the perpetuation of gender inequalities and emphasizing the need to deconstruct stereotypes and promote a more diverse and empowered representation of women, capable of challenging and overcoming the misogyny present in society.
