Centro Referência de Assistência Social Paulo Corrêa: um estudo da relação oferta e demanda

Abstract

The basic social protection unit in Brazil is the Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS), which is materialized in different ways in different regions of the country and is the main gateway for access to the social policies of the network. With this in mind, the general objective of this research is to analyze the supply and demand relationship at CRAS Paulo Corrêa in Parintins, as well as the specific objectives of identifying the challenges in providing services and evaluating the demands of users and the responses of the equipment, as well as reflecting on the basic social protection of the Social Assistance Policy in the face of the social assistance supply and demand relationship. The study's methodology is based on bibliographical, documentary and field research. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with three social workers from CRAS Paulo Corrêa, in which data analysis revealed obstacles in the provision of services, especially the coverage of many neighborhoods, the amount of assistance provided to income transfer programs and the fragility of some services. It was also found that the main demands refer to the single registry, with responses made possible by the technical team at the unit. Finally, we reflected on the misalignment between services and demands, caused by the challenges faced at the unit. The conclusion is that an adjusted supply-demand relationship in care is crucial to aligning services with the real needs of the population, especially the peoples of the Amazon with their regional singularities.
