A visita domiciliar como instrumento de trabalho das assistentes sociais: uma análise na Policlínica Padre Vitório

Abstract

The present work has the general objective of analyzing the limits and possibilities of home visits as a technical operative instrument in the work of Social Workers at the Padre Vitório Polyclinic in Parintins-AM. And the specific objectives are: to discuss home visits as a technical operative instrument of Social Work; to point out how home visits are developed in the field of public health, emphasizing the field of Social Work; to identify the objectives, challenges, limits and conditions of home visits as part of the work of social workers at the Padre Vitório Polyclinic. The research is of the theoretical bibliographic, documentary and field type, analyzes were carried out, through interviews made to Social Worker professionals, in order to verify the limits and possibilities of home visits in the institution. From this, the results obtained were that through the Home Visit the Social Workers of the Polyclinic they do the work of seeking and monitoring the users who undergo their treatments at the institution, and thus be able to mediate and execute their interventions with regard to access to benefits, consultations, exams and other health services. However, the main difficulties encountered by the professionals and the problems in the execution of this instrument such as: the lack of vehicle, the lack of resources, the physical structure, the lack of support from the responsible bodies, as well as the institution ends up limiting the autonomy of the professional in performing their services, due to the demands of the institution with regard to home visits, to become a tool linked to the active search for users living with HIV and who have abandoned their treatments. With everything, the professionals are able to carry out the home visit in their daily lives, even in the face of the difficulties posed, however, these visits are made according to the availability of transportation and resources when available and emergency.
