A biblioteca escolar e o incentivo à leitura por meio de filmes cinematográficos

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze how the school library can promote actions to encourage reading through cinematographic films. As for the specific objectives, it was outlined: a) pointing out the role of the school library in actions to encourage reading; b) describe the context surrounding cinematographic films and their genres; c) verify how the librarian participates in the development of actions to encourage reading at school, through cinematographic films. To this end, qualitative, exploratory and bibliographical research was carried out, with the aim of investigating how the use of films can contribute to the development of the reading habit among students. The methodology involved the search and analysis of information related to reading, encouraging reading, the school library and literary adaptation for cinema. It was shown how cinematographic films have great potential to awaken students' interest in reading, especially when there is collaboration between the librarian and the teacher in the construction of these activities. It is concluded that the combination of literature and cinema provides students with an engaging experience, stimulating a love of reading and critical reflection. Furthermore, both reading and cinema can complement each other in this incentive process, promoting a more dynamic and interesting learning environment.
