Ensino de língua japonesa na Escola Estadual de Tempo Integral Bilíngue Prof. Djalma da Cunha Batista e Escola Estadual de Tempo Integral Bilíngue Profa. Jacimar da Silva Gama: marcos históricos

Abstract

This paper presents a historical overview of the implementation of Japanese language teaching at the E. E. T. I. B. Djalma da Cunha Batista and E. E. T. I. B. Jacimar da Silva Gama schools, their operation, and the elements that highlight the two institutions as promoters of Japanese language education in the Amazonas public education system. The Portuguese-Japanese Bilingual Schools are a unique educational model in Brazil, implemented in the second decade of the 21st century, and having as a backdrop the strong presence of companies with Japanese capital in the Industrial District of Manaus and the efforts of the Japanese-Brazilian community of Amazonas to disseminate its cultural legacy and stand out on the national scene, in the scope of Japanese language education. Based on Nosella and Buffa (2009) (apud Santos, Vechia, 2019) on the history of education, on Resende (2023) on Bilingual Schools, on Quintino et al. (2022) and Maciel (2023) about the Djalma Batista School, this research brings to light new information about the Djalma Batista School and makes the first presentation about the Jacimar da Silva Gama School. When analyzing the historical context of the implementation of the Japanese language in both schools, the influence of the local community, the collaboration of the State of São Paulo and the support of NIPPAKU were observed. Factors such as the lack of teachers, the lack of interest of the target audience in studying in general, the exit and entry of students without knowledge of the Japanese language, the lack of teaching materials for science and mathematics subjects in Japanese, and an adequate methodology for Portuguese-Japanese bilingual teaching negatively influence the students' education. However, despite the obstacles, since 2022, when the first high school class graduated, 5 students from Escola Jacimar have entered the Bachelor's Degree in Japanese Language and Literature at UFAM, demonstrating the constant efforts of teachers to motivate students to continue studying the Japanese language beyond high school.

本研究は、E.E.T.I.B.ジャルマ・ダ・クーニャ・バティスタ中学校とE.E.T.I.B.ジャシマール・ダ・ シルバ・ガマ高等学校における日本語教育の実施とその運営、そしてアマゾンの公立教育 制度における日本語教育の推進者としての両校を浮き彫りにする要素を歴史的に紹介して いる。ポルトガル語・日本語バイリンガル学校は、ブラジルにおいて、21 世紀の初めに導入 されたユニークな教育モデルであり、マナウス工業地区における日本資本の企業の強い存 在感及びアマゾナス州日系ブラジル人コミュニティーの努力がその背景にある。日系社会 は日本語教育を通じてその文化的遺産を普及し、全国的に著しい成果を果たし、ブラジル の公立教育機関にも影響を及ぼしたことが見られた。教育の歴史については Nosella と Buffa (2009) (apud Santos、Vechia、2019)、バイリンガル学校については Resende (2023)、 に基づいている。ジャルマ・バチスタ学校に関するQuintino et al. (2022) および Maciel (2023) を先行研究としながら、ジャルマ・バチスタ学校に関する新しい情報を明らかにし、 ジャシマル・ダ・シルヴァ・ガマ学校に関する初発表を行っている。両校における日本語導 入の歴史的背景を分析した以上、地域社会の影響、サンパウロ州の協力、日伯の支援など が見られた。教師不足、対象学習者の学習全般への関心欠如、日本語の知識のない生徒 の絶えない退学・入学、理数科目のバイリンガル教育にふさわしい日本語教材及び教授法 の不足などの要因が考えられます。しかし、支障にもかかわらず、ジャシマール高校でバイ リンガル教育を始めた高校1年生が卒業した2022年以来、5人の生徒がUFAMの日本語・日 本文学の学位コースに入学し、生徒に日本語学習を継続するよう動機付ける教師の絶え間 ない努力が見られた。
