Cuidado farmacêutico ao paciente surdo: desafios e estratégias na adesão medicamentosa

Abstract

Pharmaceutical care stands out as the most effective approach to ensure and promote the rational use of medications, ensuring that everyone understands the correct way to use the pharmaceutical form. In this scenario, the relationship between professional and patient is fundamental for adherence to treatment, especially in groups where there are linguistic barriers that can hinder communication. Among these groups, the deaf community stands out, which has difficulties in understanding prescriptions and instructions, resulting in health risks. This work aims to gather articles that discuss this type of care and emphasize the most vulnerable groups, such as children and the elderly, analyzing how the approach can influence adherence and clinical examination. This research will be characterized as descriptive and exploratory, of a qualitative nature, based on a literature review and analysis in the state of Amazonas, especially the municipality of Itacoatiara. The aim is to propose viable treatment strategies that promote humanization, improved health, and equity. In this way, it fulfills one of the principles that affirms that health is a right for all. Thus, valuing even simple procedures can highlight assistance and contribute to professional practice aligned with the needs of the community.
