A presença da natureza no espaço escolar amazônico: o olhar da gestão educacional

Abstract

The theme of this study revolves around the importance of natural environments for students’ development in schools, from a contextualist perspective discussed by Higuchi (2022), Profice (2016), and Louv (2016). The focus was on assessing how educational managers can promote the presence of such environments in both public and private institutions in the city of Manaus, Amazonas. The research explored the challenges faced in providing access to these spaces, the value attributed to natural environments within school grounds, and the current reality of educational institutions. Interview data reveal that the integration of natural elements in schools is precarious, highlighting the need for investment and policies that emphasize the presence of nature in educational environments. Such efforts aim to improve the school environment and ensure that children and adolescents are not deprived of enriching experiences in natural areas that foster meaningful learning.
