Família e política de assistência social: um estudo sobre os impactos do Serviço de Proteção e Atendimento Integral à Família (PAIF) no município de Parintins/AM

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the impacts of the Family Protection and Comprehensive Care Service (PAIF) in the city of Parintins/AM, from the study conducted at the CRAS Santa Rita Social Assistance Reference Center. The research seeks to understand how this service, provided for in the National Social Assistance Policy (PNAS), impacts the families served, contributing to the strengthening of the protective function of families in situations of social vulnerability, especially in the Amazonian context. The research adopts a qualitative and exploratory approach, based on literature review, documentary analysis and field research, with the application of semi-structured interviews with two representatives of the families using the PAIF who attended the service for two years and the social workers of the service. Among the results, the research pointed out that the actions of the PAIF are still little attractive to users, who mostly only comply with the actions of the service when they are in non-compliance with conditionalities for the maintenance of social programs. It is concluded that the PAIF, although essential to social protection and citizenship, brought discreet impacts on the vision of users and the technical team, in addition to facing structural and political limits aggravated in the Amazon, where precariousness, state absence and neoliberal logic weaken its emancipatory character, making secondary to the great demand for other services of the institution.
