Resumo
A proposta desta pesquisa foi a investigação do fenômeno de
significação na língua mawé, mais especificamente, a catalogação do léxico
utilizado por estes ao descrever a planta, o cultivo e o beneficiamento tanto da
planta, como do fruto do guaraná, discutindo a relação entre língua e cultura no
processo em que tais itens conceituam e representam da realidade deste grupo
étnico. A metodologia envolveu duas atividades básicas: a primeira a respeito
da coleta e transcrição de dados onde foram entrevistados professores
indígenas com pouca ou grande experiência com o cultivo do guaraná e a
segunda, à análise e interpretação dos dados coletados. A relação entre língua
e cultura, no caso do guaraná como em qualquer outra cultura ancestral, dá-se
quando toda uma carga de conhecimentos tradicionais e culturais pode ser
evidenciada a partir da coleta de seu vocabulário, posto se dá nesta a
materialização do léxico, representada por meio da língua em instâncias
gramaticais e semânticas, assim sendo, um léxico específico operacionalizado
pela ação do dispositivo sociocognitivo, ou seja, mediado ou ativado a partir do
aparato cognitivo e de forças sociais dentro da perspectiva teórica
multissistêmica funcionalista- cognitiva. Na palavra, léxico/vocábulo, warana,
ainda encontramos o resquício forte da resistência do tradicional, existindo a
resistência por parte dos Mawé em aceitar plantas do guaraná domesticadas
como o verdadeiro guaranazeiro. Para eles, warana é uma palavra pra um tipo
único de planta, aquela nascida naturalmente dentro do contexto da mata e, por
isso, em estado selvagem ainda não domesticado. A abordagem do léxico
escolhida para este trabalho permitiu uma comunicação com áreas distintas: a
interface entre lexicologia, cultura e história da agricultura.
Abstract
The proposition of this research was the investigation of the signification of the
phenomenon mawé language, more specifically, a cataloging of the lexicon used by
them when describing a plant, the cultivation and the beneficiation of the plant, such
as the guaraná fruit, discussing the relation between language and culture in the
process with which the items are conceptualized and represent the reality of this ethnic
group. The methodology involved two basic activities: the first regarding data collection
and transcription where indigenous teachers were interviewed with little or great
experience with guaraná cultivation, and the second, to the analysis and interpretation
of data collected. The relation between language and culture, in the case of guaraná,
like any ancestral culture, it occurs when a whole load of traditional and cultural
knowledge can be evidenced from the collection of its vocabulary, given in this the
materialization of the lexicon, represented by means of the language in grammatical
and semantic instances, thus, a specific lexicon operationalized by the action of the
sociocognitive device, that is, mediated or activated from the cognitive apparatus and
social forces within the multisystemic functionalist-cognitive theoretical perspective.
The lexicon approach chosen for this work allowed a communication with distinct
areas: the interface between lexicology, culture and the history of agriculture.
